Gallium nitride radio frequency (RF) devices based on silicon carbide possess both the high thermal conductivity of silicon carbide and the advantage of high-power RF output at high frequencies offered by gallium nitride. They can meet the requirements of 5G communication for high-frequency performance and high-power processing capabilities, and are gradually becoming the mainstream technology for 5G power amplifiers, especially for macro base station power amplifiers.
